Why invoices go unpaid
Most late invoices are late for boring reasons.
Not disputes. A missing due date, so “when you get a chance” is the term. No invoice number, so nobody can reference it in their system. No job reference, so the person approving it cannot tell what it was for. Vague lines like “labour — $2,400”, which invites a phone call instead of a payment.
The template above has a field for each of those, which is most of the reason it exists. The other half is sending it the same day the job finishes — an invoice written on Sunday for work done a fortnight ago is already being paid late, and it is the part no template can fix.
